Do UGGS have arch support? Well if you are thinking about buying a pair of UGG Boots or shoes you need to think about their practicality and your foot health. Whilst fashion is great you can end up with serious foot problems by wearing the wrong footwear all day.
Boots and shoes that don’t have good arch support can cause foot and heel pain and lead you to develop foot problems such as plantar fasciitis. This is why you need to think about the support your boots will give you to prevent problems down the line.
Here is what you may need to know about UGG boots and how they may impact your feet.

Do Any Uggs Have Arch Support?
So do UGGS have arch support? Well, I need to start off by clarifying that UGGS is a footwear brand that has expanded well beyond its standard shearling boots to offer a huge range of styles.
Some UGGS Boots and shoes have more support than others but it would be fair to say that the brand is unlikely to appear on a list of the best orthopedic footwear.
However, when people think of UGGS I think it would be fair to say that most people associate the brand with their classic sheepskin and suede slip-on boots. This means this article is primarily going to discuss their classic boots and their support rather than the many other styles they offer.
When it comes to the standard sheepskin boots that UGGS offer they have no arch support which means that if you choose to wear them regularly for significant periods they could cause you foot problems.
Why People Used to Wear Them
UGG boots were never supposed to be worn all day. This is a recent trend that has been created by them becoming fashionable and mainstream.
Traditionally they were worn as a form of slipper or by Australian surfers. The boots would keep their feet cool when it was hot and their feet warm when it was cold. People didn’t walk around in them all-day in the way some people do now.
The boots were never designed with enough support for everyday use but now that has been forgotten.
Are UGGS Comfortable To Walk In All Day?
As UGGS don’t have good arch support then they are probably one of the last shoes that you should think about wearing around all day. They are not designed for walking any significant distance and if you try and do this without insoles or orthotics then expect foot problems later down the line. If you already have flat feet then you may experience foot pain much more quickly.
Your footwear needs to offer arch support, stability, and cushioning if you are intending to wear them all day. If your boots don’t have this then you are going to get problems. If you are going to wear UGGS think about wearing them for short periods only and not for any significant walks.
UGG Boots With Arch Support
If you are looking for UGG boots with arch support then you will need to look a little further than their classic styles.
UGG Men’s Biltmore Hiker Boots for example are designed for walking. These offer much more support than their sheepskin boots and have a comfortable footbed and EVA outsole. Plus they have laces which when done up correctly make the boots fit more securely and offer much-needed ankle support.
If you are looking for boots that can help on a cold snowy day then these UGG Women’s Adirondack III Boots are perfect. These are waterproof and have a great wool ling to keep your feet warm. They are cold-weather rated to -32˚C.
When it comes to support they have a removable imprint insole with wool lining and that EVA midsole to give you stability and support. I should also mention the rubber outsole which gives you the extra traction you need in winter.
As you can see both of these boots have a much better support structure for your foot rather than traditional UGGS which are relatively floppy and are very like slippers.
Arch Support Insoles For UGG Boots
Whilst the classic style UGG boots don’t have arch support there is no reason why you can can’t put orthotic insoles into them to give them a little more support. Remember you won’t be able to help much with ankle support or the wide box that they have but you may be able to help flat feet and stop pronation problems.
Powerstep Insoles are a great example of arch support that you can put in your boots to help you with support when you are wearing your UGGS. These can help prevent foot pain and ankle injuries and help with problems such as plantar fasciitis.
Don’t confuse orthotic insoles with UGGS own sheepskin insoles that can be replaced in the boots. These are designed for warmth and general comfort rather than a replacement for orthotics which are used for foot health.
Do UGG Slippers Have Arch Support?
UGGS don’t just have a huge range of shoes and boots they also have an incredibly popular line of different slippers.
Just like their boots these do not offer great arch support and don’t have orthotics built in to support flat feet or prevent problems occurring in the plantar fascia.
If you are looking for slippers that have good support and help with foot care then you really need to look at a brand like Vionics which does a great line of slippers with the extra support you need.
These Moccasin slippers are not significantly different from UGG Ansley slippers but these have built-in orthotic inserts to stop arch pain and other foot problems.
Shearling Boots With Arch Support
Do UGGS have arch support? Well as you’ve heard most of the classic styles don’t but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other brands out there that can give you the built-in support you need.
These Vionic Jaxon Boots are made with leather and faux shearling but have all the support that you need. They have three-zone comfort and help with stability and foot health. Vionic makes shoes that are designed to help with flat feet, plantar fasciitis and other foot issues so that you get a boot that is great for your feet.
Sorel also makes a number of shearling boots that are great if you want incredibly warm footwear that is good for your feet. These Sorel Harlow Boots are really stylish and on-trend and are great for winter. The extra traction and EVA footbed is an added bonus and will keep you comfortable and safe whilst you are walking.
