There are plenty of UGG slipper dupes that are almost idential to the real thing only significantly cheaper. Not everyone can afford to pay eye watering prices for a pair of slippers so a whole market has opened up in UGG look a like slippers. Here are my favorite dupes that look almost the same as the real thing.

UGG Tasman slippers are unique because of their thick soles, slip on style and embroidered collar that makes them stand out from their usual designs. These Inpaksa slippers do a great job of copying the originals.

These come in 5 different colours including a reather nice pink shade as well as black.

These are fur lined for comfort and which means they are great for wearing when the weather starts to get cooler. They also have memory foam to make them easier to wear as well.

What I love about these is the extra features that make them easier to wear and maintain. In particular the rubber sole which makes them safer to walk in and the fact that they are water resistant making it easier to keep them clean. They are also breathable which means that you are less likely to get sweaty feet whilst wearing them.

The benefits of wearing slippers at home should never be underestimated as they don’t only help to keep your feet warm they can help your general health as well.

Black UGG Look Alike Slippers

Whilst the tan or beige style UGG slipper is the most recognisible I have to say that I love a pair of black slippers and these Fluff Yeah dupes make me want to rush out and buy them.

These are a slide style but with a strap which means they are easier to wear without slipping off your feet.

Just like the original UGG’s they are super cosy plus they are comfortable.

The rubber outsole means they can be worn outside if you want but frankly I’m not keen fluffy slippers being worn outside because they get dirty too easily. That said these can be machine washed so they shouldn’t be too hard to maintain.

As they are breathable and have no sweat materials they are the perfect slippers to wear if you are prone to sweaty feet.

These classic conker colored slippers with a sheepskin trim and inner look just like the UGG Disquette. If however you want choice there area a few other colors available but I think this classic stands the test of time.

The great thing about these slippers is that they are perfect for the winter with their plush faux fur and suede. Plus for the fashion conscious among you they have that platform sole that makes them stand out.

You can wear these indoors and outdoors because of the rubber sole if you want. I’m more interested in the memory foam soles and arch support which makes them more comfortable.

Oh and an added bonus is they can be put in a cold wash which is great for keeping them looking good.

I actually own a pair of UGG Ansley slippers in black but there are now so many great dupes it does make me question spending that much on a pair of similar slippers again.

These Dearfoams moccasin slippers look almost identical and are made with 100% Australian shearling making them just as warm and cozy as the real thing. If you don’t like the standard UGG Style color don’t worry there are 9 other different ones to choose from.

Once again these have rubber outsoles making them wearable outside if that is what you like. Personally mine are only ever worn indoors.

The great thing about real sheepskin is they are great at helping your feet to stay cool in summer and warm in winter making them a great slipper to wear all round.

Plus the sheepskin helps with moisture from sweat so your feet can stay dry and smell fresh.

 

Chantomoo Women’s Slippers Memory Foam House Bedroom Slippers

UGG Scuffita slippers are just complete indulgence and these cute and fluffy alternatives have that same boudoir style about them.

The faux fur in these is off the scale so that they look like you are wearing giant pillows on your feet. I love this cream color but there are plenty of other colors you can choose from if you want something different.

These are definitely the ultimate house slippers that look and feel luxurious because of the memory foam. Definitely buy these if you want something special looking.

Finally last but not least these are relatively similar to the UGG Tasman Maxi Curly.

Unlike the typical UGGS styles that are made in suede and sheepskin these are made from fleece and have a curly fur upper.

I think these are more practical slippers for the home. They have that great rubber sole to help prevent you from slipping and the fleece insole helps to wick away moisture keeping your feet dry.

I love the memory foam footbed for comfort as that is the first thing I look for in a slipper so they get my vote.

So as you can see there are plenty of possible UGG slipper look alikes out there that will meet your needs and just about every style has been copied. Whilst you may not be getting the branding of the originals most of these examples are pretty good alternatives and the lower price point means that you save money which is always a good thing!

I love the different designs on each toe but this isn’t simple to recreate. You could easily pick one of these desings and run with that instead of trying to replicate everything.

If you suffer from restless legs and find that your sleep is being disrupted because your have the annoying urge to move your legs at night then you are probably looking for solutions to help. I love natural remedies so I thought I would talk about some of the best essential oils for restless legs you can use to allow you to get a good nights sleep.

Natural remedies are always well worth a try as they are gentle to use and don’t have nasty side effects plus they are easy to use at home.

Here are my top 5 favorite essential oils that can help many people find relief from the problem.

Natural Remedies for Restless Legs

Before using any of these natural remedies for restless legs do remember that most essential oils shouldn’t be used neat on your skin. Instead they should be diluted with a carrier oil like coconut oil or jojoba oil first.

If you are going to use any of these oils it is also worth doing a patch test on your skin first to check you don’t have any reactions. Whilst essential oils are generally very safe there are always going to be people who find their skin is irritated by certain oils.

If you are pregnant take extra precautions as some oils should not be used.

Essential Oils for Relaxation – Lavender Oil

Lavender oil is one of my favorite essential oils because I adore the smell plus it is the perfect scent to use if you want to feel calmer and more relaxed. The more relaxed you are the less likely you are going to feel the urge to move your legs around whilst you are in bed.

Lavender oil also has mild muscle relaxing properties so when it is massaged into the legs it can help to reduce muscle tension, spasms and cramps. It is also an anti-inflammatory and helps with pain relief which is an added bonus with restless legs.

I also find that the smell sends me to sleep. Lavender products have always been associated with better sleep quality so it makes sense to use this essential oil to switch off your mind so you can fall asleep more quickly and deeply.

If you are planning to use this oil a 2-3% dilution works best.

  • 2% dilution: This is suitable for most adults and can be achieved by adding about 12 drops of lavender essential oil to 1 ounce (30 mL) of a carrier oil.
  • 3% dilution: For slightly stronger effects, mix about 18 drops of lavender essential oil with 1 ounce (30 mL) of a carrier oil.

I typically massage lavender oil onto my legs but you can add a few drops of the oil into a warm bath which can help relax your body before bedtime.

Using lavender oil as part of your night time routine can be a gentle, natural way to manage the discomfort associated with restless legs syndrome.

 

 

Peppermint Oil for Restless Legs

Peppermint oil is another really useful oil which is why you see it in the ingredients of so many foot products.

When it comes to restless legs it works because it contains menthol which has that wonderful cooling effect on your skin. This sensation is what works to distract you from uncomfortable feelings that give you the urge to move your legs.

Plus the menthol in the peppermint oil is a muscle relaxant as well which helps to alleviate muscle spasms, cramps and tightness. It also helps to stimulate your blood circulation when applied directly to your legs which can help reduce the restlessness you feel in your legs.

As with lavender oil the same dilution work well.

  • 2% dilution: Mix about 12 drops of peppermint essential oil with 1 ounce (30 mL) of a carrier oil.
  • 3% dilution: For a slightly stronger effect, combine about 18 drops of peppermint essential oil with 1 ounce (30 mL) of a carrier oil.

You can massage the oil on to your legs or you can add it to a foot bath and soak your feet in it. This helps to relax your muscles and improve circulation.

Using peppermint oil as part of your routine can help manage the discomfort associated with restless legs syndrome, offering a natural and refreshing way to soothe your symptoms.

 

 

Eucalyptus Oil 

There are a number of reasons why you might want to use Eucalyptus essential oil if you suffer from restless legs. The first is that it has anti-inflammatory properties. As inflammation in the muscles and joints can contribute to restless legs it can make a difference in some people.

It is also an oil that is known for its pain-relieving properties. As restless legs cause discomfort it can potentially ease this. Plus like peppermint oil it helps to improve circulation which can stop your legs from feel heavy and sluggish.

To use the oil a 2-3% dilution is best as with the previous oils.

  • 2% dilution: Mix about 12 drops of eucalyptus essential oil with 1 ounce (30 mL) of a carrier oil.
  • 3% dilution: For a stronger effect, combine about 18 drops of eucalyptus essential oil with 1 ounce (30 mL) of a carrier oil.

You can massage the oil onto your legs to help relax your muscles, use it in the bath or if you want create a warm compress. To do this add a few drops of diluted eucalyptus oil to a bowl of warm water. Soak a cloth in the water, wring it out, and apply it to your legs. The warmth, combined with the oil’s anti-inflammatory properties, can provide relief from RLS symptoms.

 

 

Roman Chamomile Oil

I used to think there was only one type of Chamomile oil but in fact there are four and for help with restless legs you need the Roman oil rather than some of the other varieties.

Roman Chamomile essential oil is great for soothing the nervous system and help to calm and relax you which is useful if you have restless legs.

It also is know for helping to relax your muscles, improve your sleep quality as well as having anti-inflammatory benefits meaning it is a great all rounder for helping the problem.

As with the other oils you stick with the same dilution in carrier oils.

  • 2% dilution: Mix about 12 drops of Roman chamomile essential oil with 1 ounce (30 mL) of a carrier oil.
  • 3% dilution: For a slightly stronger concentration, combine about 18 drops of Roman chamomile essential oil with 1 ounce (30 mL) of a carrier oil.

I like to massage the oil into my legs but you can add it to your bath or use it in a foot soak to help give you relief at night.

 

 

Marjoram Oil

Finally last but not least is Marjoram oil which is not really a well talked about essential oil but which can help with restless legs.

Like many of the other oils it helps with muscle relaxation and calming. It also helps with improved circulation but where it differs is that it is also an anti-spasmodic. This means it can help to prevent or reduce muscle spasms which is helpful for restless legs which often lead to involuntary leg movements and muscle twitching.

Use the following dilutions in a carrier oil if you are going to try this particular essential oil.

  • 2% dilution: Mix about 12 drops of marjoram essential oil with 1 ounce (30 mL) of a carrier oil.
  • 3% dilution: For a stronger effect, combine about 18 drops of marjoram essential oil with 1 ounce (30 mL) of a carrier oil.

Like the other oils use it as a massage oil, in the bath or with a warm compress to help give you relief.

 

These 5 best essential oils for restless legs are where I would start if I wanted to try and solve the problem naturally. Remember you may need to try a few before you hit on one that makes a difference. Just make sure that you only use one oil at a time every day for a period of about a month before deciding if it helps or not. Whilst some people may experience immediate benefits many others will take a while before they see results.

Why Using Lavender Essential Oil On Feet Is Beneficial

Whilst I primarily use Lavender essential oil on my feet for relaxation, stress reduction and the heavenly smell it has many other benefits as well.

Antimicrobial and Antifungal Properties:

Lavender oil has natural antimicrobial and antifungal properties, making it effective in preventing and treating minor foot infections, such as athlete’s foot and toenail fungus. It helps to keep your feet clean and free from harmful bacteria and fungi so it is great to use as part of your foot hygiene routines.

Anti-Inflammatory Benefits

Lavender oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce swelling, redness, and discomfort in the feet. This makes it particularly useful for anyone who suffers from foot pain or conditions like plantar fasciitis or in my case tendonitis at the top of my foot.

Moisturizing and Softening

Lavender oil is often used in foot creams and balms because it helps to moisturize and soften the skin. It is especially beneficial for dry, cracked heels, leaving the skin feeling smooth and supple.

Deodorizing Properties:

Lavender oil’s natural deodorizing effect helps to neutralize unpleasant foot odors. It can be used in foot sprays or added to foot baths to keep feet smelling fresh.

It Improves Circulation

Lavender oil can help improve circulation when massaged into the feet, which is beneficial for individuals with cold feet or circulation issues. Improved blood flow can also aid in faster healing of foot injuries.

So as you can see regularly using lavender essential oil as part of your foot care routine can make a big difference which is why I love it.

Using a Lavender Essential Oil Foot Bath

If you want to incorporate Lavender into your foot care routine then start by using it in a foot bath.

If I am being lazy then I simply buy a lavender and Epsom salt foot soak to add to warm water. This particular brand has a high proportion of magnesium in it which I like because it can really help to relax muscles.

 

 

If you want to make your own homemade foot soaks for relaxation I have a number of recipes that you can follow including one that helps you make your own lavender and Epsom salt foot soak.

Lavender Essential Oil Foot Scrub To Remove Dead Skin

If you have dry feet like I do then another foot care job is to remove dead skin cells from your feet.

I have a whole routine that first involves a foot soak, then a foot scrub followed by using a Diamancel foot file to get my feet looking ship shape.

A foot scrub is helpful because it removes dead skin quickly so that my feet are smoother. This foot exfoliating sugar scrub is particularly handy as it is individually wrapped so that you use the perfect amount each time.

 

 

Lavender Essential Oil Foot Cream To Moisturize Feet

Foot cream is another way of using lavender essential oil on your feet.

As I have dry skin on my feet I try and keep them hydrated as much as I can and use a foot cream immediately after a pedicure to lock in moisture.

This lavender foot cream has shea butter, aloe and coconut oil in it which makes it more effective at helping stop dry skin on your feet.

 

Using a Lavender Foot Peel Mask

As I have dry skin and calluses on my feet I do like to use a foot peel mask 4 or 5 times a year to really help with old skin removal.

If you have never tried one of these they are a revelation however they do take a little more effort than my standard foot care routine.

Basically you place your feet into some foot mask socks and leave them on for an hour to do their work. To really get results pop on a pair of socks over the booties as it helps the ingredients to penetrate the skin on your feet. When you have finished using them give your feet a quick rinse and then wait.

Between 7 and 10 days later you will start to find that the old skin on your will start to shed and over the course of a few days you will be left with baby soft skin underneath.

By using these regularly I get better results with my pedicures. Of course you don’t need a mask that has lavender in it but as I like the smell it makes the whole experience more relaxing.

 

 

Using Lavender To Deodorize Shoes

Finally as well as putting lavender essential oil on your feet you can also use it to deodorize shoes. Lumi Outdoors Natural Shoe Deodorizer Spray is a great product that helps you to get rid of bad smells in your shoes.

This product is a great multi-tasker because not only does it work to get bad smells out of shoes it also can be used around the house as well.

Lavender and Epsom Salt Foot Soak

I am a huge fan of the smell of lavender (although I know not everyone is) and I tend to use this foot soak when I want to relax deeply and get ready for sleep.

The benefits of lavender are well documented. It has a really calming scent and that helps to relax the nervous system and lower cortisol levels. It also is known for being a great natural remedy for insomnia. Plus it has anti-inflammatory properties that help to reduce muscle tension and soreness so when it is used in a foot bath it can help ease muscle pain and discomfort.

Here are the simple ingredients I used to put in my lavender and Epsom salt foot soaks. I grow my own lavender which I dry and use in my foot baths but you can buy them as well. They aren’t essential but they add a touch of luxury to the footbath.

  • Fill a basin with warm water.
  • Add the Epsom salt and stir until it dissolves.
  • Add the lavender essential oil and dried lavender flowers.
  • Soak your feet for 20-30 minutes, allowing the lavender to calm your mind and the Epsom salt to relax your muscles.
  • Dry your feet thoroughly before bed.

 

Chamomile and Honey Foot Soak

Another great foot soak to use before bed is one made from chamomile and honey.

If you weren’t aware chamomile is known for its relaxing, calming and anti-anxiety properties. Many people drink chamomile tea to help relax the mind before bed but you can also use it in a foot soak to help reduce stress.

Chamomile is also anti-inflammatory and can reduce swelling and discomfort in your feet after a long day. Plus it is gentle enough to use on your skin and can help can down irritation and redness.

Adding honey into the foot soak helps to hydrate and soften your skin which I love as I get dry feet. You don’t have to add it but I love the additional benefit.

To make your own do the following:

  • Brew the chamomile tea bags in a large bowl of hot water and let it steep for 5-10 minutes.
  • Add the honey and coconut oil, stirring to combine.
  • Pour the mixture into a foot basin and add more warm water as needed.
  • Soak your feet for 20-30 minutes to benefit from chamomile’s calming effects and the moisturizing properties of honey and coconut oil.
  • Dry your feet and use a hydrating foot lotion afterwards if you have dry feet and pop on some socks to lock in the moisture.

 

Peppermint and Green Tea Foot Soak

This next foot soak is one that I tend to use during the day to relax. This is because the peppermint oil can relax you but it is also refreshing which means it isn’t quite so suitable for bedtime.

Peppermint oil is often used in foot products because it helps to sooth and cool the skin on your feet. This is great if you have tired or aching feet.

It is also anti-inflammatory and can help to reduce swelling in your feet which is why it is useful in a foot soak.

Green tea is the more calming product and when it is in a foot soak it can help to relax your muscles and reduce stress. Using the two products together is both relaxing and revitalizing.

Here is how I create this foot soak:

  • Add the peppermint essential oil and baking soda, stirring to mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into a foot basin and add warm water.

Rosemary and Lemon Foot Soak

Rosemary is another plant that I grow in my garden and I use it for everything from cooking to foot soaks.

When it comes to foot soaks Rosemary has some amazing aromatherapy benefits including stress and anxiety reduction. It’s smell is brilliant at helping to clean your mind, improve focus and give you a sense of calm.

It also can help to ease muscle tension and reduce pain when you use it in a foot soak. If you are having problems with circulation it can also help to relieve swelling and enhance blood circulation.

I like to add lemon to this particular foot soak as the smell helps to improve my mood making me feel more positive. Plus it is antibacterial which is great for foot hygiene.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup fresh rosemary leaves (or 2 tablespoons dried rosemary)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup sea salt
  • Warm water

Instructions:

  • Fill a basin with warm water.
  • Add the rosemary leaves, lemon juice, and sea salt.
  • Stir to combine and let the mixture sit for a few minutes.
  • Soak your feet for 20-30 minutes, allowing the invigorating scent of rosemary and lemon to uplift your spirits and refresh your feet.
  • Dry your feet properly after finishing your foot soak and put on a good foot cream.

Eucalyptus and Lavender Foot Soak

The final DIY foot soak that I sometimes make is a eucalyptus and lavender foot soak. I use this for relaxing but it also has a secondary benefit.10 drops eucalyptus essential oil

Eucalyptus scent is great for opening the airways, helping promote easier breather and calming the nervous system. This means it is great if you have a cold or suffer from asthma.

Plus Eucalyptus oil helps to relieve muscle tension and its cooling sensation is great for tired swollen feet.

When you use it in combination with lavender oil it reduces stress, tension and anxiety plus it can help you sleep.

When combined, eucalyptus and lavender oils work to create a powerful relaxation experience. The eucalyptus soothes physical discomfort and invigorates the senses, while lavender calms the mind and promotes emotional well-being.

  • Fill a basin or foot bath with warm water.
  • Add the Epsom salt and stir until it dissolves.
  • Add the eucalyptus and lavender essential oils to the water.
  • If using baking soda, add it now and stir well.
  • Soak your feet in the mixture for 15-20 minutes.
  • After soaking, pat your feet dry and apply a moisturizing lotion or cream.

Learning how to clean Vans shoes at home is relatively straightforward but the method you need to use will depend on the material of the sneakers (canvas, leather or suede). Since buying a canvas pair and helping my goddaughter and nieces look after theirs I have become a bit of an expert in cleaning them because they are not as hardy or as easy to maintain as my leather shoes.

Canvas is lightweight, flexible and great for summer in particular but it isn’t as waterproof as leather and it can stain and get grubby really quickly. This means that knowing how to keeping your shoes looking good is really important if you want your shoes to last.

The Easy Way- Buy The Vans Shoe Cleaner Kit

The easy way is to simply buy a Vans Shoe Cleaner Kit to do the hard work for you.

Vans have created a kit that contains a foaming cleaner, a refresher, shoe brush and water and stain shield that is simple to use at home.

My favorite product in the whole kit is the foaming cleaner as when that is used on your shoes it helps to get rid of all the dirt and stains. Jason Markk also has a similar product which is one of the best canvas and sneaker cleaners of all time. I’ve mentioned both because sometimes it can be difficult to buy the Vans products.

The product isn’t particularly expensive and worth it if you love your Vans and want to keep them looking in great condition.

 

 

How To Clean Vans Old Skool At Home

If you haven’t got a proper shoe canvas cleaner or would like to try the DIY method then here are the main products that I use.

  • Mild detergent or dish soap
  • Soft brush (like an old toothbrush)
  • Microfiber cloth or sponge
  • Bowl of warm water
  • Baking soda (optional for tough stains)
  • White vinegar (optional for deodorizing)
  • Magic Eraser (optional for the rubber sole)
  • Clean, dry towels

The Process

Before you start if your Vans are ones which have laces then remove them as they are going to be soaked in warm soapy water and scrubbed.

Also remove an removable insoles which can be cleaned by wiping them down with a damp cloth and then being left to air dry. This post will tell you how to clean non-removable insoles.

Remove the Excess Dirt

If you Vans have dirt or debris on them then your first step is to use a brush to get rid of as much of it as you can from the shoe surface and soles. This makes them easier to clean without spreading the dirt over the surface of your shoes further.

Prepare Your Cleaning Solution and Scrub

Mix a small amount of mild detergent with warm water in a bowl. You can also add a bit of baking soda if the sneakers are particularly dirty.

Dip the soft brush or toothbrush into the soapy water and start scrubbing the sneakers, focusing on stains and dirty areas. Use gentle, circular motions to avoid damaging the fabric.

For tougher stains, make a paste with baking soda and water and apply it to the stained areas, then scrub with the brush.

How To Clean Vans White Rubber 

Most canvas vans shoes have a white rubber bumper called foxing that binds the upper to the sole. This is one of the main places where the shoes get dirty. Partly because of the color and due to the fact it is the area of the shoe nearest the ground.

To clean this section of shoe after I have used detergent I bring out my trusty Magic Eraser.

If you don’t have a Magic Eraser go out and buy one now as this is such a handy cleaning tool. I use it to get marks off walls and worksurfaces as well as for cleaning rubber parts of shoes.

All you need to do is wet it slightly and rub it over the white rubber and marks come off like magic hence the name.

When all your shoes have been cleaned thoroughly. Dampen a microfiber cloth or sponge with clean water and wipe down the sneakers to get rid of any soapy residue.

Make sure you don’t saturate your shoes with water as that will do them no good.

Air Dry the Sneakers

Finally stuff the sneakers with clean, dry towels or paper towels to help them retain their shape and absorb moisture. Let them air dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources because that can warp your shoes.

Clean the Laces and Insoles

If you haven’t already, scrub the laces and insoles with soapy water, rinse them, and let them air dry before placing them back in the sneakers.

Optional Deodorizing

If your Vans have an odor, you can sprinkle some baking soda inside the shoes and let it sit overnight to absorb the smell. Shake out the excess baking soda in the morning.

By following these steps, your Vans sneakers should look fresh and clean, helping to extend their life and keep them looking good as new.
