Ever thought about putting Lavender essential oil on your feet? Lavender is one of my favorite aromatherapy oils because it helps with stress reduction and sleep. Whilst you can use it on your body in a cream or as a sleep mist I love to use in my foot products.
You can create your own homemade lavender foot products or you can buy them online and they are perfect for anyone who wants to relax and unwind at the end of a long day.

Why Using Lavender Essential Oil On Feet Is Beneficial
Whilst I primarily use Lavender essential oil on my feet for relaxation, stress reduction and the heavenly smell it has many other benefits as well.
Antimicrobial and Antifungal Properties:
Lavender oil has natural antimicrobial and antifungal properties, making it effective in preventing and treating minor foot infections, such as athlete’s foot and toenail fungus. It helps to keep your feet clean and free from harmful bacteria and fungi so it is great to use as part of your foot hygiene routines.
Anti-Inflammatory Benefits
Lavender oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce swelling, redness, and discomfort in the feet. This makes it particularly useful for anyone who suffers from foot pain or conditions like plantar fasciitis or in my case tendonitis at the top of my foot.
Moisturizing and Softening
Lavender oil is often used in foot creams and balms because it helps to moisturize and soften the skin. It is especially beneficial for dry, cracked heels, leaving the skin feeling smooth and supple.
Deodorizing Properties:
Lavender oil’s natural deodorizing effect helps to neutralize unpleasant foot odors. It can be used in foot sprays or added to foot baths to keep feet smelling fresh.
It Improves Circulation
Lavender oil can help improve circulation when massaged into the feet, which is beneficial for individuals with cold feet or circulation issues. Improved blood flow can also aid in faster healing of foot injuries.
So as you can see regularly using lavender essential oil as part of your foot care routine can make a big difference which is why I love it.
Using a Lavender Essential Oil Foot Bath
If you want to incorporate Lavender into your foot care routine then start by using it in a foot bath.
If I am being lazy then I simply buy a lavender and Epsom salt foot soak to add to warm water. This particular brand has a high proportion of magnesium in it which I like because it can really help to relax muscles.

Lavender Essential Oil Foot Scrub To Remove Dead Skin
If you have dry feet like I do then another foot care job is to remove dead skin cells from your feet.
I have a whole routine that first involves a foot soak, then a foot scrub followed by using a Diamancel foot file to get my feet looking ship shape.
A foot scrub is helpful because it removes dead skin quickly so that my feet are smoother. This foot exfoliating sugar scrub is particularly handy as it is individually wrapped so that you use the perfect amount each time.
Lavender Essential Oil Foot Cream To Moisturize Feet
Foot cream is another way of using lavender essential oil on your feet.
As I have dry skin on my feet I try and keep them hydrated as much as I can and use a foot cream immediately after a pedicure to lock in moisture.
This lavender foot cream has shea butter, aloe and coconut oil in it which makes it more effective at helping stop dry skin on your feet.
Using a Lavender Foot Peel Mask
As I have dry skin and calluses on my feet I do like to use a foot peel mask 4 or 5 times a year to really help with old skin removal.
If you have never tried one of these they are a revelation however they do take a little more effort than my standard foot care routine.
Basically you place your feet into some foot mask socks and leave them on for an hour to do their work. To really get results pop on a pair of socks over the booties as it helps the ingredients to penetrate the skin on your feet. When you have finished using them give your feet a quick rinse and then wait.
Between 7 and 10 days later you will start to find that the old skin on your will start to shed and over the course of a few days you will be left with baby soft skin underneath.
By using these regularly I get better results with my pedicures. Of course you don’t need a mask that has lavender in it but as I like the smell it makes the whole experience more relaxing.
Using Lavender To Deodorize Shoes
Finally as well as putting lavender essential oil on your feet you can also use it to deodorize shoes. Lumi Outdoors Natural Shoe Deodorizer Spray is a great product that helps you to get rid of bad smells in your shoes.
