Crocs the famous fugly footwear is having a moment. People seem to love these unattractive looking shoes but why? Well the benefits of Crocs shoes aren’t in my view because of the design so something else must be making people wear them.
So I thought I would talk about why people can’t get enough of these clogs and what it is about them that makes people not want to take them off their feet.
et with as minimal hassle as possible.

Are Crocs Comfortable? Foot Heaven Vs Hell
Personally I’m not a fan of the shoes myself and wince every time I see someone wear them but I am in the minority. Crocs shoes sell like hot cakes and the number one reason is comfort.
Now I am a big lover of super comfortable shoes and I often choose frumpier shoes over style to make my feet happy. In many ways this is what Crocs lovers are doing as well.
Crocs shoes are made from a lightweight foam called Croslite that molds to your feet and over time they feet like an extension of your foot. As they are so comfy people simply don’t want to take them off and they have become popular for everyday wear.
The number one reason people love them is because this cushioned and durable material is shock absorbing and super easy to wear. You can even wear them with socks if you want.
Whilst they might not be the type of shoes that you would wear out in polite company Crocs are perfect for walking around the home in, doing errands or using on the beach.
But what other benefits do Crocs have if you were things to buying a pair to wear?
Breathability Matters
You have to admit that Crocs have a design that stands out and looks different and part of this is down to the ventilation holes that are in their shoes.
These vent holds allow your feet to breathe and stay dry even in the sweltering heat of summer. This not only stops sweaty feet but also helps to cut out foot odor as well which is a huge bonus in hot weather.
Plus the holes in Crocs allow water to move out of them freely making them the perfect choice for gardeners or to use by the pool or beach.
Crocs makers created a clever and practical design and that makes them more useful that many standard types of sandals.
Crocs Health Benefits – Support and Stability
Whilst Crocs may not have good arch support which is one of the reasons I don’t wear them they do have other things going for them that help to support your feet.
I’ve already mentioned the molded footbed which helps to cradle and support your foot as you walk which is a huge benefit.
Crocs also have a molded heel cup and that helps to provide stability by hugging your heels and preventing any unwanted side to side movement as you walk. Both these features make them easy to wear for extended periods.
Plus they have a roomy toe box that allows your feet and toes plenty of room to spread out. Shoes that force your toes to feel crushed are never ideal so these can really help make a difference to comfort levels.
What are Crocs Good For? Versatility
Another reason why people love Crocs is because they are a versatile shoe. Yes I’ve mentioned that they aren’t exactly designed for posh nights out but they can be worn in plenty of other situations.
Traditionally people think of them as garden shoes or something that you would wear on holiday but there are plenty of other activities and environments where they work well especially as they are lightweight and comfortable.
If you wear the shoes indoor as an example you’ll find that they have non marking soles which means that your floors won’t end up with scuffs and marks on them.
They also have slip-resistant soles which is good if you are worried about safety. As they have good traction they are safe to wear around pools or boat desks.
They are also ventilated which helps to keep feet cool and dry which is perfect for hot months of the year when your feet need to breathe.
As summer footwear they work really well provided you are thinking of keeping them for casual use which is what most people do.
Benefits of Wearing Crocs – They are Easy Clean Shoes
Another reason why people like wearing Crocs is that they are easy to clean and quick drying making them really low maintenance.
This means you can rinse them under a tap to get rid of the sand at the beach and they still look great. Alternatively if you have been on a muddy walk or in the garden using them a quick rinse and they are as good as new. Being waterproof has some significant advantages.
There are very few other shoes that enable you to do the same which is probably why these have taken off so well.
Affordability Counts
There is no denying that another reason people love them is because they are affordable.
Some shoes designs and brands charge a fortune for their footwear but Crocs are very much priced at the cheaper end of the market and that is attractive to plenty of buyers.
When you combine the affordability with their comfort and versatility it isn’t that shocking that Crocs sales have taken off so much.
What Are The Benefits of Crocs? – Styling and Personalization
Whilst I am not a lover of Crocs there is no denying that they have got a huge spectrum of different designs and styles. As well as the ever popular clogs you can also buy sandals, boots and flats.
Plus where freedom of expression is concerned you can have a field day because of the huge range of colors they come in.
Fashion houses and pop stars have actually played on this and started to feature them on catwalks or on photo shoots. Even Justin Bieber and Madonna have been spotted wearing them.
Even if you are not world famous you can still express yourself through the Crocs by using Jibbitz to create bespoke looking footwear. Jibbitz appeal to adults and children and allow you to add the personal touch to your shoes.
Do You Love Them Enough To Wear Them in Public?
As you can see the benefits of Crocs are quite probably more extensive than you would have given them credit for.
They aren’t just a quirky addition to your closet but a practical footwear choice that combines durability with comfort.
There is a style out there for almost everyone and that works in most casual settings. You can even customise them to showcase your unique style.
Plus they aren’t expensive which means that if you want to move on to something else you won’t feel upset.
Whilst I haven’t made the leap into buying a pair of these fugly shoes I can see the attraction and why millions of other people find them the perfect summer shoe.
