Summer’s hottest sandals are here, and I am absolutely loving the new styles on offer. When the temperatures rise, I love finding sandals that look good but are also really comfortable.

I need my footwear to work hard for me so I look for items that I can pair with everything from flowy sundresses to casual denim. Whether you’re into great basics, chic slides, or timeless strappy designs, I’ve rounded up my must-have picks for the season. Here are some of the stand out styles that I’ve discovered this year.

My first pick are these great Franco Sarto dark brown sandals athat are perfect for casual wear during the day.

What I love about these is that the straps can be adjusted to my feet and that they are really comfortable to wear when you are walking around during the day. The toe post adds a spot of interest plus they make me feel as if I am swanning around a Greek island rather than wearing them around my neighborhood.

If you are eco-conscious it’s also good to know they are partially made from recycled materials.

On Trend Mules

I chose these mules with a double strap because they stopped my internet shopping scrolling straight away. The puffy straps look amazing making these sandals a bit of a showstopper.

You can buy these in a variety of colors but I’ve chosen a neutral tan color as they will go with everything.

Just note that these are made in Vegan leather so they might not last as long as other materials.

Summer Clogs

Ok technically these aren’t traditional summer sandals but I had to include them as clogs are having a bit of a moment right now.

If you are going to buy a pair choose a classic design like these from Sandgrens who are a Swedish footwear designer.

This particular style isn’t too high and has an easy slip-on design, supportive soles and they are made from breathable material which makes them ideal for all-day wear. I also love the rubber sole which is great at stopping slippage.

Clogs are really having a fashion moment this year especially the ones with studs like these so expect to see them everywhere. Pair this style with flowy dresses or casual denim to create a chic effortless summer vibe.

Lace Up Sandals

Flat gladiator style sandals continue to be a summer shoe staple although each year there is a new twist. This year it is all about the laces and straps which you tie around your legs.

As these have a flat minimalist style they are not only going to be comfortable but they will got with just about any outfit.

The only issue is that these will take a little extra time to put on because of the lacing involved. If you find that too much of an annoyance stick to my slip on styles instead which involve minimal effort to out on.

Birkenstocks for Summer

Where would any women’s sandals selection be without mentioning Birkenstocks? These classics keep on coming back year after year and our obsession with them never seems to wane.

I think because the cork footbed is really comfortable once it is worn in people barely want to take them off their feet during the summer. Plus although they aren’t cheap the sandals tend to last for a long time. Plus if you weren’t aware they can be repaired meaning you are likely to get really good wear out of them.

I have to say I love the classic Arizona style but of course there are many other designs you can choose from.

I also thought I should mention that Birkenstock also sell their sandals in EVA now as well. These are cheaper and are waterproof which means they are perfect for wearing around the beach or at a pool.

These are still really comfortable and adjustable but also really easy to clean. As the original leather and cork Birkenstocks are no good around water choose this style if you plan to spend your summer around the beach.

Quirky Open Toed Sandals

If you are looking for something a little quirkier for summer that is edgy and trend led then these sandals caught my eye.

It isn’t very often you see a cone heeled sandals so they stand out from most sandals that you are going to see on the market.

You could of course wear these casually but I think they would look great with a structured dress or for smarter occasions during the warmer months.

Buying Good Quality Flip-Flops

Summer is a time to dig out your flip-flops to wear on holiday, around the pool or at the beach.

Yes of course you can choose a cheap pair if you want but I like to still have something a little more elegant on my feet which is why I’m choosing these Tory Burch black flip-flops.

These look sleek and sophisticated even though they are the ultimate in casual footwear for summer. You could easily wear these out to dinner in the evening on holiday and not look out of place because they are not in garish bright colors. Plus black goes with just about everything!

Are you dreaming about buying a pair of Hermes famouse “h” sandals but can’t afford the price tag? Then these are the next best thing. These mid brown sandals are like the real deal but substantially cheaper.

These Steve Madden Haydyn sandals will give you the luxe look for less and are perfect for wearing casually over the summer months.

You can buy these in a range of different colors but stick to neutrals if you want to keep that classy style as they will look great with a wide range of outfits.

Most people are aware that Doc Martens do a range of shoes and boots but not everyone knows about their sandal range.

Docs sandals are not designed to be sophisticted in the traditional sense but are more fashion led and chunkier. As you can see in this design there is a significant sized sole with a ripple thread that gives you extra cushioning and height.

These are great for summer as they are comfortable plus they have straps which you can adjust so you get the best fit.

These are a little less chunky that the Doc Marten styles and are great if you are looking for sandals that will be supportive and comfortable when walking around.

Chanel do a variation of these dad sandals but of course they are expensive so if you are on a budget this Tory Burch design is significantly cheaper.

Finally although I am all about comfort I had to add in a pair of neutral heeled sandals for when you want to dress up.

This particular design is by Michael Kors but frankly you would never know because of the minimalist design which makes them look much more expensive.

This sleek design is perfect to wear for a night out and offers a quiet luxury look which is all the rage right now.
