The problem of sagging over the knee boots has made some manufacturers start to think about ways in which they can solve the problem and BootBra have come up with a device that does the job.
When you purchase a BootBra you are given an adjustable elasticated strap that fits around your thigh. This strap has a popper on it. You are also given a piece of adhesive material with the metal section that the popper will fit into. Just stick the material on your boot and snap the poppers into place.
This should work well on most boots to keep them from falling down but the manufacturers point out that it won’t work well for shearling-lined boots. What is great about this device is that the adhesive material is attached to your boot permanently so there is no need to keep on purchasing products.
Wearing Thigh High Socks To Keep Your Boots Up
Sometimes the simplest ideas are the easiest and wearing thigh-high thick socks are perfect for resolving the problem.
Socks help because they not only fill some of the space between the boot and the body but also because the material gives the boots something to stick against. Smooth legs or sheer tights mean it is easier for the boots to fall down. Thicker material that is less smooth can be a simple solution to help keep the over the knee boots in place.
Layer with Multiple Socks
Whilst we are on the subject of socks then there is nothing to say that you can’t apply a few pairs of socks to create the thickness you need to keep the boots staying in place.
Wearing two or three pairs of socks could be enough to keep over the knee boots in place if they have got too baggy and have too much extra space. This solution is of course less ideal in the summer months when the weather is hot and sticky.
Loose Thigh High Boots Might Need Body Adhesive
Body adhesive or fashion glue is an alternative to some of the other methods which rely on an elastic band type contraption or velcro.
Jomi Roll-on Body Adhesive is a really easy product to use. Just roll on the adhesive in the locations where you want the top of your boots to stick. Wait a few seconds to allow the product to become tacky and then simply press the top of your boot to the skin on your leg to stick.
This fashion glue should hopefully hold your boot up for as long as you need it. When you are ready to take your boots off gently part the boot from your skin and then wash off any lasting residue.
How to Stop Thigh Highs From Rolling Down – Wear Boot Straps
Thigh-high boots can also be kept in place by wearing boot straps which keep your boots in the right position so that you don’t spend all day pulling them up and getting frustrated.
The design is relatively simple as you get an adjustable strap that you tie around your leg/thigh in the position where the boots start to slide down. Then stick the hook and loop fastener into the strap and peel off the paper protecting the adhesive. When you pull your boots up they should stick to your boot keeping them firmly in place.
This particular set has 4 boot straps and 28 hook and loop tapes that you can use. As with many of the other methods if you wear your boots regularly you will need to repurchase the product as the tapes can only be used once before they start to lose adhesion.
Velcro Strips Can Keep Your Thigh Highs In The Right Place

Wearing Jeans or Trousers to Stop Thigh High Boots From Falling Down
Finally don’t forget that wearing the right outfit can also make a difference. Wearing jeans, leggings or trousers can make a difference when it comes to keeping those boots in the right place.
The material of the clothes tends to be thicker which helps plus it is rougher which doesn’t cause the boots to slide down your legs. This is a great option if you can’t be bothered to mess around with other products to keep your boots in place.
