Do you love Docs but not the price? Doc Martens are iconic but they aren’t cheap so can you find lookalikes that will give you the same look for less? We’ve found some Doc Martens Sandals Dupes for summer that give a similar vibe for considerably less cash.

Obviously with the Doc Martens name you are paying a higher price for the quality but you are also paying for the name. Doc Martens sandals dupes avoid the brand cost which can save you money.

The great thing about Sketchers is that they are comfortable and these are no exception as they have a cushioned and contoured footbed. This matters especially if you hate the breaking in process that the real Docs have to go through.

The platform sole makes these look edgy giving them a great look. Plus the strapping helps to make them super secure on your foot making them really easy to walk in. Just note that the buckle isn’t real and is just for show as these do up with a velcro strap for ease of wear. Definitely my favorite Doc Martens sandals dupes.

Coutgo Womens Platform Chunky Gladiator Sandals

These Doc Martens Sandals dupes have a more enclosed gladiator style at the front.

Again they have chunky block heels and a great tread on the rubber sole which helps you to avoid slipping around in them.

These have a padded insole for comfort which is important if you are going to be wearing them all day.

The only downside is that these are not made from leather which means they won’t last as long as ordinary Docs however at this price point they will be perfect for a summer.

There are some very simple things you can do to make sure that your high heels don’t kill your feet. Nobody wants to spend their evening cursing their footwear choices so be prepared and you’ll find there are plenty of ways you can make your heels more wearable.

Choose the Right Size

Make sure you make things easier on yourself right at the start of the buying process and buy the right sized shoes in the first place.

Be wary of shoe brands that don’t offer half sizes. If you need a half size in a shoe only go for brands that offer your exact size and don’t be seduced by the design.

Remember your feet can change size over time and every shoe manufacturer has a slightly different fit. That means it makes sense to always try on your shoes before you buy them.

How to Wear High Heels Without Pain In The Ball Of Foot – Use Insoles and Cushioned Inserts

I actually wear insoles or cushioned inserts in every single pair of shoes that I wear. Sometimes this is for extra cushioning and at other times for support.

Make high heels more comfortable by using gel or foam insoles. You can place these in your shoes or in the balls of your feet zone so that they reduce pressure and prevent your foot from slipping down your shoes.

There are also some great heel liners that can help as well to increase comfort.

These metatarsal pads are perfect for helping alleviate pressure and increasing the wearability of your heels.

Break in Your High Heels

Whatever you do don’t wear your high heels straight out of the box for a night out. In my youth I use to regularly make that mistake but now I am older and wiser I break them in first.

Typically I wear my heels for short periods around the house first before gradually building up the time I wear them for.

This helps to soften the heels and also makes them mold to the shape of my feet.

I sometimes even wear socks with them when I am at the start of the breaking in process and it really makes a difference.

Using Moleskin For Heels

If you have never heard of moleskin it is a type of adhesive bandage that can be stuck either to your shoes or your feet in places where your shoes are rubbing.

You can either buy long moleskin bandages that you can cut to size or look out for some of the shaped moleskin products that you can peel and stick to your heels.

Moleskin can be a lifesaver and is great at preventing shoe bites and blisters.

Stretch Them

Did you know that it is really easy to stretch your shoes at home if they are a bit tight using a shoe stretcher.

I bought a cheap one off Amazon (pick a 4 way for versatility) and it works wonders at removing pinch points in shoes overnight.

You can also buy shoe stretching spray that also does the job or use a hairdryer to gently heat your shoes to make them more pliable. Just beware that heat can damage your shoes.

Alternate Shoe Heights

Whatever you do don’t try and wear high heels every day as they will cause problems.

I tend to wear different heel heights over the course of a week so that I give my feet a break.

Remember there are high heels and very high heels and both can look good so you don’t always need to wear the skyscrapers on your feet every day.

Use Anti Friction Balms or Powder

Anti-friction balms and powders are handy products are great to use when you are planning to wear high heels.

The aim of these products is to help reduce the friction between your foot and the shoe material so that you don’t experience any rubbing.

The balms typically contain ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, and vitamin E that create a slick barrier on the skin.

Powders are made from finely milled materials like corn starch or talc that absorb moisture and allow the foot to glide smoothly against the shoe lining. Both can be applied to common blister zones like heels, toes, and ankle areas before putting on high heels.

A thin, even layer is all that’s needed to minimize chafing and irritation over several hours of wear. Anti-friction balms in particular are my favorite as they are relatively small so you can pop them in your pocket or bag and carry them around all day.

Foot or Leg Cooling Sprays

Foot and leg cooling sprays can provide refreshing relief if you are wearing you high heels for long periods.

These sprays typically contain menthol or other cooling agents that create a chilled, tingling sensation on the skin. So when your feet and legs become hot, sweaty, and fatigued from being confined in heels, a quick spritz of the cooling spray can instantly revive them.

The menthol works by tricking thermoreceptors in the skin into feeling a burst of coolness. This temporary cooling effect helps reduce discomfort, swelling, and overheating that often plague high heel wearers.

The sprays can be applied directly onto bare feet and legs or even through nylons and tights. The fine mist dries quickly without leaving a sticky residue. In addition to the cooling benefits, some formulas also contain anti-friction ingredients or refreshing scents. 7 Home Remedies For Cracked Heels That Make a Difference

If you suffer from dry feet and heels there are plenty of home remedies for cracked heels that make a difference. Whilst medical treatment may be needed in some of the most severe cases most people are able to look after their foot skin health at home.

These are some of our favorite home remedies that work really well and most of them are relatively cheap meaning you can protect your heels without spending a fortune.

Our Favorite Home Remedies for Dry Feet

Cracked heels are not only uncomfortable they look terrible as well. Whilst you can hide your feet away in winter it’s much harder to do in the summer when everyone is wearing sandals and flip-flops. So here are some great home remedies for cracked heels that can help your feet to look good and repair your skin.

Using Coconut Oil For Cracked Heels

Coconut oil is one of my favorite products to use on feet because not only does it help to moisturize your feet it also is a great anti-fungal product with antimicrobial properties as well. You can read all about how to use coconut oil for toenail fungus in my article explaining how it helps.

To use the oil start by preparing your feet by soaking them in warm water for about 15 minutes to help soften the skin and open up the pores.

I then use a foot file to exfoliate with that helps to exfoliate the dead skin on the heels. This is an essential step as doing this will help the oil to penetrate better. I have used a Diamancel foot file for years and it is the one of the best foot products I have ever bought. It is more expensive than ordinary foot files but it works so much better at removing dead skin.

When you have finished exfoliating dry your feet with a clean towel and start to massage the coconut oil into the dry areas of your feet and heels.

To seal in the moisture wear cotton socks on your feet overnight to help repair the damaged skin.

If you have very cracked heels you may need to do this twice a day to make a difference.

Using a Vinegar Soak For Your Feet

Home remedies for cracked heels don’t have to be expensive and one of the cheapest options is to use a vinegar soak as a treatment for cracked heels.

To prepare a soak all you need is to add 1 part white vinegar or apple cider vinegar to 2 parts of warm water. Fill your basin with the mixture and soak your feet for 10 minutes to soften any dry skin.

Once again you need to exfoliate with a foot file or pumice stone to remove the softened dead skin and then rinse your feet with warm clean water to remove the dead skin and any remaining vinegar solution.

Now dry your feet with a clean towel and apply a really good moisturizing foot cream to your heels and then put on a pair of cotton socks overnight. I personally love O’Keeffe’s Foot Cream as it is fantastic at helping dry heels plus it is relatively inexpensive.

Aloe Vera Gel For Help Dry Feet

Aloe Vera is another one of the great home remedies for cracked heels. Use this a few months before it is sandals and flip-flops weather to get your feet summer ready.

As ever start by soaking your feet to open up the pores and exfoliate your feet to remove as much excess dead skin as possible.

Pat your feet dry with a clean towel and then get ready to apply the Aloe Vera.

Now you can use a fresh Aloe Vera plant leaf to extract the get. However it is much easier to buy 100% pure Aloe Vera gel to use.

Apply the gel over the cracked areas and then wear socks to bed to lock in the moisture and to prevent the gel getting on to your bed clothes.

Do this regularly at least once a day until the cracked heels are gone. Once they have you can start to use a moisturizing foot cream to prevent your feet developing them again. Drinking More Water to Stay Hydrated

One of the cheapest home remedies for cracked heels is a simple one and that is to drink more water.

When we are dehydrated our skin can become dry and cracked but when we have enough water it tends to be more supple and flexible.

Drink water regularly and you are helping to prevent dry heels and also helping with skin renewal so that the dry skin doesn’t build up.

Staying hydrated also helps with oil production such as sebum which helps to keep your skin moisturized.

Using Lemon Juice For Cracked Heels

Lemon juice is another common household product that can be used when you are trying to get rid of cracked heels.

A lemon juice soak can really help. Just add lemon juice to warm water and soak your feet in it to help soften the dead skin cells.

Alternatively mix two tablespoons of lemon juice with 3 tablespoons of brown sugar to make a foot scrub. Rub this on your heels to remove dead skin and then wash off with warm water and dry your feet.

Just make sure that after you have used any lemon juice treatment you use a moisturizer as it can be drying. Also be more cautious using it on severe cases of cracked heels in case it causes you skin irritation.

Applying Vaseline on Cracked Heels

Personally I am a little bit of a Vaseline addict and I use it regularly to help stop dry lips but did you know it can also be used on your heels?

To use petroleum jelly start by soaking and exfoliating your feet and then drying them properly.

Once your feet are dry take a generous amount of Vaseline and apply it to your heels and massage it in to your feet. Then cover your feet with either cotton socks or if you want cling film wrap until the following morning.

The next day take a shower and rinse off any excess and then start applying moisturizer to your feet before heading out for the day. Repeat this daily until your feet are smooth and supple.

Using Castor Oil on Dry Feet

Finally the last of my home remedies for cracked heels involves Castor oil.

Just like the other treatments you need to wash and exfoliate your feet and then you need to start preparing the castor oil.

I tend to use a small bowl and put in equal parts castor oil and a carrier oil such as coconut oil and mix them together.

Then you can apply the mixture to your feet and massage it into your heels. If you want you can also add a few drops of essential oil as well. My favorites are lavender and tea tree oil.

Cover your feet with clean socks to lock in the moisture and wear them overnight. In the morning rinse your feet with warm water, dry them and apply a thick moisturizer.

As a bonus tips you can also use argan oil for cracked heels and I have a whole article on why this is a great way to help dry skin on your feet.

Remember you need to be consistent with these treatments otherwise they won’t work as well as you want them to. If your cracked heels are severe or do not improve with home remedies, it may be best to consult a healthcare professional.

Cracked Heels Causes

The best home remedies for cracked heels help to eliminate the problem but what if you could stop them from happening in the first place.

Here are some of the main causes of cracked heels. If you keep these in check it can stop the problem from in the long term.

Dry Dehydrated Skin – I’ve already talked about dehydration and how water can help keep your skin soft and supple. Make sure you drink enough each day.
Standing All Day – If you are on your feet all day or walking on hard surfaces it can cause pressure on your heels and this makes your skin thicken and crack. Cushioned footwear can help.
Foot Maintenance – Try and clean and moisturize your feet after baths and showers so that you don’t end up with dry feet.
Weight – When you can try and keep to a healthy weight as when you are too heavy it can put pressure on your heels.
Poor Footwear – Wearing the wrong footwear can cause too much friction and pressure on your feet leading to dryness and cracking. Try and avoid ill-fitting shoes or you can end up with thickened skin on your heels that is prone to cracking.

The vast majority of my footwear closet contains black shoes because they go with everything. The delicate floral design isn’t hugely colorful but has an impact because of the 3d design. Again these are great for weddings, parties, clubs and special events.

If you are getting married then a pair of white flower heels are the perfect footwear to wear on the day.

My next two pairs of shoes are very different but would look great whether you are having a formal or informal wedding.

Let’s start with these faux pearl shoes with white flowers and a block heel.

What I love about these is even though the heels are high (3.74 inches) the platform sole makes them easy to walk in which is perfect if you are standing for a lot of the day.

Oh and I love the finishing touch of the diamante embellishment on the buckle for a further luxe touch.

These are four inches high and are sophisticated and chic. These are perfect for occasion dressing and look much more expensive than they are.

My next pair of flower heels is definitely more of a party or social event type of shoe because of the color and design. Wear these with a great dress or suit to show them off.

The heel height is a little on the high side at 3.9 inches so factor that in if you plan to be on your feet all day when you are wearing them.

If you are a lover of maximalist designs then perhaps these are the shoes for you. These high heels encrusted in diamante, flowers, faux pearls and gold to create an explosion of 3d art on your footwear.

These are not casual shoes but amazing in your face unusually shaped showstoppers.

My next two shoe styles are exactly the same but one is in color and the other is plain. Both look great but which one would you choose.
