The Best Spring Work Shoes For Women
If you have been reading my blog for some time you’ll know that I am a person who loves classic shoes that are comfortable and easy to wear. I am not interested in fads instead I like to spend my money on good quality shoes that will last and go with all the other items in my wardrobe.
So here are the shoes that work well for me and why investing in these styles means you will be owning some timeless classics.
Ballet Flats
I love a ballet flat and these Tory Burch Minnie Ballet Flats are an all time classic. I find that I tend to rotate wearing these with my Vionic flats and and Fitflop Allegro shoes.
These work great for Spring because they they are lightweight and incredibly comfortable and they can cope with the showers you tend to get at this time of year.
They are also breathable, making them perfect for warmer days, and they pair effortlessly with dresses, trousers, or skirts.
Even though they don’t have a heel they still look smart and if you have to commute to work they are easy to walk in. These are such a great wardrobe staple and well worth the investment.
Tassel Loafers
The weather in Spring can be variable to say the least which is why I like to have some more robust shoes in my close to use on days when the weather is colder and weather.
Tassel loafers like these Johnson and Murphy shoes are a spring staple for me because they are comfortable and protect my feet from the elements on colder more misreable days.
I particularly love their versatility as you can wear them with tailored pants or even a flowy midi skirt. The tassel detail adds a touch of personality to the shoes and they are great footwear if you are going to be spending long days on your feet.
Black Block Heeled Pumps
Black block heeled pumps like these Marc Fisher Zala shoes are another spring work wardrobe staple and are perfect for days when you need to look a little smarter and more put together.
I tend to choose a mid heeled pump to give me some height without making them too difficult to walk in. the lower chunkier heels also give me more stability and comfort that typical heeled shoes.
They’re perfect for transitioning from meetings to after-work plans, and they look great with just about anything, from sleek trousers to shift dresses.
Luxe Mules
Mules have been really popular for the last couple of years and if you choose the right ones like these Sam Edelmann Linnie mules you will get a relaxed luxe look that is perfect for the casual office.
Mules are one of my favorite shoes for spring because they’re effortlessly chic and easy to slip on and off. I tend to always pick flat mules for comfort so I never feel they are too difficult to walk in.
The open back design is perfect for the warmer weather as well but perhaps leave them at home on a wet Spring day.
Pair them with cropped pants or a breezy skirt for a professional yet relaxed look.
Two Tone Chanel Dupes
Why the dupes instead of the real deal? Well much as I love Chanel shoes they cost a fortune and I’ve found that sadly their designs just don’t fit my wide feet.
So instead I look for Chanel dupes that have the same stylish and sophisticated look but which are much more affordable.
The two tone styles are an absolute classic and the neutral tones complement just about any outfit meaning they are great for grabbing on a busy morning. It doesn’t matter if I am wearing a tailored suit or a simple dress these shoes always add a little touch of French glamour to my outfits.
These are the Aldo Leanne flats but you can buy plenty of other variations that give you a similar look.
Horsebit Loafers
Horsebit loafers are a classic, and spring is the perfect time to break them out.
I love how the metal detailing elevates their look, making them ideal for both casual and formal office settings. I like to wear the flatter styles like these Naturalizer Gala Slip-On Loafers but you can buy the chunkier styles as well if you want a younger look.
They’re comfortable enough for all-day wear and pair beautifully with ankle-length trousers or a tailored skirt.
Mid Heeled Slingbacks
When I am looking for a slightly more feminine and elegant look I pull out my slingback shoes. These help me add a little height to my frame and make me look a little more polished.
I do find them comfortable with the mid heel but they aren’t ideal for walking long distances in or for bad weather.
I find the open heel makes them great for warmer weather, and they add a sophisticated finish to my business and casual outfits.
These Vince Camuto Hamden Pumps are a great example of the type I love wearing.
Mary-Jane Flats
Mary-Jane flats are having a moment right now and are a really practical choice for spring workwear.
I love the look because the strap detail makes them more secure and comfortable than traditional ballet flats.
Just make sure you buy a sleek and sophisticated style like these C.Paravano Mary Jane Shoes as the chunkier looks can make you look like an overgrown child!
Pair them with everything from cropped pants to A-Line dresses in the office and you can’t go wrong.
Kitten Heeled Stilettos
Kitten heels are another shoe that is making a big comeback right now. The lower heels help to give you a hint of height without being too hard on your feet.
They also add a touch of elegance to Spring work outfits and are a little bit retro. Think Joan Harris in Mad Men and you get the idea.
Their dainty design pairs beautifully with tailored trousers, pencil skirts, or even floral dresses for a feminine and polished look.
As I am all about the comfort I tend prefer to wear something like these Vionic Kit Minnie Heels as they have additional support.
Smart Sneakers
Finally if you work from home or have a very casual office then smart sneakers can be a great alternative to the traditional office shoes.
Smart sneakers are a lifesaver for busy spring days when I’m on my feet but still want to look put-together. I love how sleek designs in leather or neutral tones can work with office wear while providing all-day comfort.
They’re perfect for pairing with trousers or even a casual blazer look for a modern twist on workwear.
I love these Kate Spade New York Sneakers in white because they go with everything.
