Let me tell you about all the high heel styles and why they’re worth knowing.

I’ve put together a guide to 16 different types of high heels, so you can find the perfect match for any occasion.

Stilettos are the quintessential high heel, known for their thin, towering heels that exude sophistication and drama.
These heels are ideal for formal events or nights out, instantly elevating any outfit. While they’re stunning, stilettos often prioritize style over comfort, so they’re best for occasions where you won’t be standing for long periods. I call them car to bar shoes!

14. Mules
Mules are backless heels that are easy to slip on and off, making them incredibly convenient to wear for many women. I have to say of all the heel styles these are probably my least favorite because I never feel my feet are secure when I am wearing them.
They come in various heel heights and styles, from block to stiletto, and can be dressed up or down. Pair them with cropped jeans or tailored pants for effortless chic.
15. Mary Janes
Mary Jane heels are a classic design with a rounded toe and strap across the top of the foot. They’re often associated with a youthful or retro vibe depending on how chunky they are.
If you are a more mature adult shy away from the goth and cosplay looking chunky versions and stick to the sleeker styles for a more sophisticated look.
Pair them with skirts or dresses for a playful, vintage-inspired look.
16. Pumps
Finally last but not least a pair of black heeled pumps are the ultimate wardrobe essential, featuring a closed back and rounded or pointed toe. I find these easier to wear than stilettos as the heel height tends to be lower.
They’re incredibly versatile, suitable for both professional settings and evening events. Classic black or nude pumps are a must-have, complementing virtually any outfit.
