As the weather gets cooler and autumn and winter are underway it’s the perfect time to switch up your nail color to something rich and seasonally stylish. I’m talking about burgundy pedicure designs as the shade is so on trend this season.
Burgundy is such a rich color and makes your pedicure look both elegant and stylish whilst capturing the seasonal vibe. It is probably my favorite toenail color because it goes perfectly with my outfits and skin tone.
I tend to use a solid glossy color but some of the burgundy nail art I’m going to show you uses a bit of sparkle to jazz it up as well.

Burgundy Pedicure Ideas to Copy
A burgundy pedicure offers endless possibilities as there are so many shades ranging from deep wine to rich maroon and even lighter, plum-inspired tones.
For the classic look (which I use), opt for a full coat of solid burgundy. This is a timeless choice because it is bold enough to make a statement, yet sophisticated enough to wear for any occasion.
If you want to try something different, consider an ombré effect, blending from deep burgundy at the base to a lighter, rose-toned shade at the tips. This gradient look adds dimension and interest, making it an eye-catching choice for fall and winter.
Adding decals or nail art is another fantastic way to elevate a burgundy pedicure. Snowflakes, leaves, or abstract gold foil accents can give your toes a seasonal or festive flair. Tiny gold or silver decals contrast beautifully with burgundy’s rich tones, and they’re perfect for adding a holiday-inspired twist without being overly flashy.
If you’re aiming for a more glamorous look, adding rhinestones or small gems to one or two accent nails can create a dazzling effect. Placing a small gem at the base of each nail adds just a hint of sparkle, while a few scattered rhinestones on one toe can give a unique, eye-catching design.
For a softer twist on burgundy, try pairing it with a matte topcoat. Matte burgundy looks chic and understated, making it perfect for everyday wear.

Let’s start with one of my favorite looks which is really simplistic to copy but looks polished and professional.
This nail artist has used a simple glossy burgundy nail polish as their base but added some gold nail stickers in the shape of leaves to finish off the look. You can buy something similar with these nail art stickers.
There is no need to go overboard with embellishments as you can see from the picture. Just a couple of simple nail decals can really make the difference.

For a more showy look a simple gold stripe added to the burgundy with some rhinestone embellishment makes this burgundy nail art a night time look.
These rhinestones with pick up tweezers will allow you to add some sparkle to your nail designs.

Rhinestones feature in this next design which I think is a great look for an evening out. Here the rhinestones have been arranged at the bottom of the big toe only which helps prevent the look from becoming too showy.

An even more understated subtle chic look is the slight change in textures between the toes in this design. Whilst the big toe just uses glossy burgundy nail polish in the look the smaller toes with their burgundy beads and glitter nail polish elevate this look into something more sophisticated and fashionable.

Burgundy and gold work perfectly together which is why so many nail technicians combine the two colors together.
A great added extra with this look is that a few of the nails have a pearl look to them as well making them look more opulent.

I’m a big fan of people who can create the leopard print look on their nails. This look has burgundy leopard print accents on a white/cream background to contrast the look.

The great thing about this design is that you can copy sections of it or try and recreate the whole look at home.
Triangles should be relatively simple enough to replicate but the harlequin nail is a harder one to try because of the detailing required.

This is another example of how gold can work well with burgundy nail polish. The design is a bit too modern for my tastes but it may give you inspiration to do something like this with a twist.

I had to include this design because of the amazingly intricate design that this nail technician has done on the big toe. Recreating this isn’t something that I would try but if you have a skilled nail professional perhaps they can attemp this for you.

Sometimes you don’t need to do anything fancy to make a statement. This deep glossy burgundy color looks fantastic on its own and is definitely something that everyone can do at home.
