This season brown sneakers for women are having a moment and I am here for it. In fact brown fashion is where it is at as designers are pumping out merchandise in shades of coffee, caramel and soft tan. I have to say it is a welcome break from the sea of white trainers we’ve been dealing with in the summer.
Brown feels warmer, moodier and a little more sophisticated. In fact it is a colour that was totally off my radar until I started to see the new season looks.
To me it’s a little bit of a 70’s vibe sneaking into the fashion world but in a chic and stylish way and why not. Brown goes with denim, balance bold colors and makes neutrals pop. The best part? You can throw them on with just about anything and still look effortlessly pulled together.
So here are my top picks that I’m loving for the season if you are in the market for wearing a slightly different colour this year.

The Best Casual Brown Sneakers For Women This Season
Keds Women’s Rena Lace Up Fashion Sneaker
Let’s start with these Keds Rena Lace Up Sneakers with that retro vibe that is so hot right now. These have a nod to sneakers like Sambas with the stripes but they have a slightly runner shape that makes them a little softer. These can be worn with just about everything but are without doubt a super casual shoe.
What I like most is that they’re not trying too hard. They’re simple, clean, and ridiculously comfortable and the kind of sneaker that quietly becomes your go-to without you realising it. Wear these with jeans, casual trousers, or even a midi skirt when you want something relaxed but not sloppy.
For those of you that want comfort these have an EVA midsole to make them easier to wear plus they are breathable so you can avoid sweaty feet. These are a great closet basic.
Dr. Scholl’s Womens Madison Lace
My next pick has a platform to it but not so high that you look like Baby Spice did back in day. For someone who is not very tall these can add just that little bit of extra height.
I love the rich suede lookalike upper and cream detailing that makes them look expensive. Again these are a perfect sneaker to wear with jeans and trousers.
If you don’t know the Dr Scholl brand the other great thing about these sneakers it that they are going to be super comfortable. The designers are well known for making really comfortable and supportive shoes with lots of cushioning which means that you can wear them all day. Foot health is important and even though sneakers sometimes look comfortable it doesn’t mean they always are. This means choosing a brand that cares about your feet is always going to be a better choice than a purely fashion label.
Coach Women’s Flat Sneakers
If you have been following womens fashion this year you’ll know that low profile sneakers are all the rage. Adidas for example have their Taekwondo sneakers and New Balance have their Miu Miu colab. Now Coach has obviously started to get in on the action.
This look is a little out of the ordinary and is great if you want to be totally on trend this season.
My only reservation with sneakers like this is that the cushioning is never going to be as good as with shoes which have thicker soles. So if you need to prioritise comfort I suggest going for one of the other looks I’ve picked.
Sam Edelman Womens Ivey
I have to say these deep brown chocolate and cream sneakers really grabbed my attention. I really love the rich colours that show off the brown trend to the max.
These have a low profile but nowhere near as low as the Coach sneakers. You can see the extra cushioning on the rubber sole which should make these easier to wear.
Plus if you are worried abour scuffing your sneakers when you are wearing them the rubber toe bumper is going to help keep them looking good for longer.
Madden Girl Womens Jumper
Whilt brown is currently in season burgundy colors are not far behind which is why I chose this particular sneaker design that combines the two.
This is the ultimate autumn/winter sneaker of the season because of the coors and will go perfectly with most casual clothes.
As ever if you are wearing these out in wetter weather make sure you have sprayed a shoe protector like Crep Protect on them first to keep them looking good.
Steve Madden Campo Suede Sneakers
These brown sneakers actually have two different textures which adds interest to the whole look. Plus the two tone laces catch the eye as well.
These have a platform sole and a rocker toe which means you get those extra inches of height if you need them plus it protects the material from puddles and rain.
What I love about these is that they have good grip which is useful if you want to stay upright when the sidewalks are wet and slippery.
New Balance Unisex-Adult U574v1
Finally last but not least you can’t go far wrong with a pair of New Balance sneakers as they are so comfortable.
This design is a mushroom color and the fabric is slightly fuzzy which makes a change from smooth suede sneaker styles.
These are great all rounders and will see you through the new season looking fashionable and with happy feet.
Will You Be Buying a Pair of Light or Dark Brown Sneakers This Season?
The more I see of them, the more I’m convinced that brown sneakers for women aren’t just a passing trend. They’re the quiet classic we didn’t know we needed. They’ve got that easy, grounded feel that works in any season and with almost everything in your wardrobe. So if you’re ready to give your white trainers a well-earned break, now’s the time to slip into something softer, warmer, and a whole lot more interesting.
