Brown is definitely having a moment this year and is rapidly becoming one of the biggest fashion colours of the season. So it isn’t a shock to find that brown pedicure designs are also a huge hit with nail art enthusiasts this fall and winter.
Brown is a hugely versatile shade and can vary from rich chocolate tones to soft mocha and creamy beige. Nail salons are embracing the colour in a big way so I wanted to talk about some of the designs you can copy at home this year to stay on trend.

Brown Toenail Designs
Whether you love a sleek minimalist look or something a little more playful, brown pedicures are the perfect mix of chic, modern, and they are really easy to wear.
I’m a big fan of glossy dark chocolate pedicures but when I was researching what nail designers were doing I found that there are huge variations in colour out there that I also loved.
These designs will hopefully show you the sheer number of different ways you can try and copy this look at home. Some of the toenail art is really simple as well. You don’t always have to make things difficult to make an impact.
For those of you that want to stretch your artistic talents there are more complex designs for you to copy as well. I’m a big fan of nail stickers or decals to make everything easier so I’ll talk about some of the products you can buy to help create great copies yourself.
Brown Toenail Art
So let’s dive in and look at some of the great brown pedicure designs that people have been working on for this season.
My first pick is just one of the easiest designs you can do which is just paint your toenails in one block colour. This glossy mid brown is chic and classy and is something everyone can copy at home.
Lakur nail polish in Natural Charm in a perfect glossy colour for you to try this shade at home.
This next design is still a really easy one to copy only now you need a darker glossy brown on the big toe and a copper or bronze metallic varnish or the remainder of your toes.
I think this design really makes an impact even though it is simple to copy. It is perfect if you have a special occasion to go to.
For a different type of metallic polish you could try ILNP Shapeshifter chocolate brown holographic nail varnish.
For the dark brown try Born Pretty Dark Brown Gel Nail Polish. It’s not expensive but gives you a great look.
At the opposite end of the spectrum are these lighter brown nails with gold glitter. Again the nails create a great impact without any complex nail design being involved.
Lakur Taupe Brown nail polish in Chai is a similar colour if you want to get this look.
For something a little special I found this cats eye design which is a great design to try.
Whilst this looks complicated it isn’t with the right polish. GAOY Jelly Brown Cat Eye Nail Polish in Cocoa Shine is a dead ringer for this shade.
For those of you that prefer something extra you can of course add nail art as well to your designs. This nail artist has added a leaf motif to the big toe and mixed different shades of brown on different toes.
Flower and leaf decals are the easiest way to get this look unless you have a steady hand and are good at drawing. I personally prefer to cheat to make my life easier.
Animal print designs are always a showstopper if you can get them right. I’m sure there are nail technicians who can do this by hand but of course the simplest way is by using nail stickers.
Leopard print nail art stickers are what you need to use at home and the whole process becomes a whole lot easier.
If you want a really stand out colour then bronze nails are always great as they have that metallic look. I love these nails with the gold starburst or firework style design.
You can buy bronze nail polish to get this look yourself and then add firework decals for the artwork. This would be the perfect look for Firework Night in the UK.
This next design is another example of how well various shades of brown work with gold accents.
Gold nail foils are the easiest thing to use if you want to do something similar for yourself.
This next design reminds me of Burberry colours. Each nail is painted in a differnt colour then a simple stripe design is painted on each toe.
This Gaoy Nude Brown Nail Polish Set makes sense to buy if you are looking are recreating a number of looks in this colour as it has a range of tones to choose from.
This is another variation on the design with small dots/leopard print nails and stripes.
The same nail polish set could also be used to create this next look which reminds me of a marbling effect on the big toe.
Finally last but not least who doesn’t love a tortoise shell design. This design using dark browns and amber is a great autumn or winter look to try at home.
Brown Pedicure Ideas to Inspire You
After sorting through all these gorgeous brown pedicure ideas, I can confidently say this shade is the color of the season. It’s warm, sophisticated, and somehow manages to feel both trendy and timeless at the same time.
I’m officially declaring brown my go-to polish shade for the rest of the season, and if you haven’t jumped on the trend yet, now’s the perfect time to dip your toes in.
