The weather is about to turn wetter and cooler so I thought I would talk about some of the best womens waterproof boots you can buy that will keep your feet dry.
I’m fussy when it comes to my footwear and for Fall I’m on the look out for boots that will keep my feet dry and give me real waterproof protection. However they also have to be comfortable and stylish enough so that they go well with the rest of my wardrobe.
As ever there are a huge amount of option on the market which can be a bit confusing. I think about when I’ll need to wear them so I choose styles that fit the occasion. Usually I have at least one pair for running errands and another which is a little smarter so I feel more put together.
I need options that work hard and still feel like me. Here are the waterproof boots I’m looking at this season. Each one fits a different purpose, and all of them have been chosen for comfort, style, and function. If you need to upgrade your footwear for fall or winter, these are worth checking out.

Smart Waterproof Boots
Let’s start with smart waterproof boots. These need to be clean and classic and still handle the downpours we get.
I wear mine for workdays, lunches out, and anything where I want to look polished. I usually go for black or brown to keep them versatile, and I always check for a solid sole and real waterproof lining. These are the ones I wear the most during the week.
I love the Naturalizer brand because they tend to be comfortable and well made. This pair with a medium heel are perfect to wear to the office or even out in the evening. These are a rare thing, waterproof heeled boots that you can wear for smarter occasions.

Fashion Rain Boots
Rain boots are a necessary fashion accessory especially if you have a dog. I use these when I’m going to be walking over wet muddy fields. All I need to do is hose them off when I get back home and they look like new.
I used to think rain boots were awkward to style, but there are so many better-looking options now. Fashion rain boots come in sleek shapes and fun finishes, and they work with jeans, leggings, or even dresses. I love having a pair that is easy to slip on and still feels like part of my outfit. If I had to pick one style that balances fun and function, it would be these Hunter ankle rain boots.
These come in a range of colors. I love plain black but if you want more vibrant colors like red of yellow they sell them as well.

Sporty Waterproof Boots
This years purchase is going to be a pair of sporty waterproof boots like the ones from Sorel because I love their fashion forward look. Who says waterproof boots have to be dull when shoe companies are coming up with these amazing designs.
These are definitely for more casual occasions and are lightweight, flexible, and made for long walks or busy days. These feel more like sneakers but hold up in rain or slush. I wear them when I’m out running errands. They are also a good option for weekends when comfort matters most.

Waterproof Hiking Boots
I have a pair of waterproof hiking boots that I use occasionally now as I don’t have time to walk trails like I used to. I did however think it was important to mention hiking boots as plenty of people use them for longer walks.
Choose a pair with great support and good grip so that they keep you upright in slippery conditions.
Hiking boots are much more stylish now than they used to be and less bulky so you have a lot more choice. I like this style by Columbia.

Waterproof Sneakers
This is probably the most useful category for me and for most people. Waterproof sneakers look just like regular trainers but keep the rain out. I use these when I want to stay casual without dealing with wet socks.
They are good for travel, commuting, or school runs. I always keep a pair near the door in case the forecast changes mid-day.
Sorel do a great line in these but if you want something cheap and cheerful you can also look at Sketchers.

Insulated Waterproof Boots
When it comes to the colder fall months they you may want to switch to insulated waterproof boots to deal with the cold.
This type of boot tends to be lined with warm materials like fleece or shearling to keep your feet warm whilst the outer part of the boot is waterproof.
This type of boot is perfect for when there is snow on the ground. Usually these are heavier that some of the other styles but they are worth investing in if you live somewhere where there is lots of snow.
I like these ones by Columbia because they have extra cushioning and the higher ankle gives them more support when you are walking in snow. Plus they have great traction to keep you upright. I choose black as always but they do a wide range of colors if you want something different.

Heeled Waterproof Boots
If I am going somewhere that needs a bit more style, I have a pair of heeled waterproof boots that still feel good to wear.
They add just enough height to dress up jeans or skirts but are built to handle wet sidewalks. Look for pairs with a solid block heel and good tread underneath. These are perfect for going out without having to switch shoes later.
Remember you don’t need to go too high. A medium height heel is perfect for when it’s raining.

Choosing The Right Boots For You
The Best Womens Waterproof Boots for Fall Walks are ones that suit your needs. There is no need to buy every variation. One or two is often enough or you can build your collection over time.
Just a word of warning always check that the boots you are buying are fully waterproof and not just labeled as water resistant otherwise you are going to end up with soggy cold feet.
Also make sure they are wearable for more than an hour at a time, comfort is key. I look for boots with good grip, cushioning, soft linings, and styles that go with everything.
I have linked some of the best ones I found this season above and they are all available online and have solid reviews. If you are planning to update your shoes before winter, these are worth a look.
