Luxury House Slippers With Arch Support
Vionic Karma Caressa Women’s Mule Slipper
I have to confess that I am totally biased when it comes to the Vionic Brand because their shoes and slippers have really helped my plantar fasciitis and foot tendonitis. I sing their praises because there is something about the slipper support that stabilizes my foot and allows me to walk without foot pain.
These mule slippers are a perfect example of why I love the brand. Firstly the design is divine and looks fashionable which I’m afraid is lacking in many other styles. These slippers come in either a lovely neutral color or black which is my preference (as they are less likely to show marks).
They also have a rubber sole for safety as well as arch support and cushioning. These are great comfy slippers for everyday wear in the house.
What’s Great About Them?
- The design is on trend.
- They have a deep heel-cup to keep your feet stable.
- There is great arch support.
- The slippers have cushioning for the balls of your feet.
- The shoes are designed by podiatrists meaning extra comfort and thought for your foot health.
What Could Be Better
- The slippers are pricey but you get what you pay for.
- The arch is high so you may need to size down from your usual slipper size.

RockDove has a large range of slipper colors and styles and they are really easy to slip on and off because of their open-backed style.
This pair, in particular, has 360-degree memory foam which means that you are going to be wearing slippers that are incredibly comfortable and have shock-absorbing properties.
The outsole is made of rubber so you can use them inside or outside of the house. Plus they are machine washable making them really easy to clean.
What’s Great About These House Slippers?

- The slippers have a heel collar at the back to prevent your foot from slipping out of them.

Walk-Hero Canvas House Slippers
I regularly talk about Walk-Hero orthotics and how they are one of the best insoles that you can use in your shoes to help foot pain. So, of course, I am going to rave about their house slippers which use the same technology.
These slippers are not just the best slippers for standing all day in the mid-price bracket they are also orthopedic which means they have been designed to help if you have foot problems.
Their orthotic insoles which are in the slippers are designed to help with plantar fasciitis, flat feet, Achilles tendonitis, and problems with ball of foot pain. These are podiatrist-approved slippers with an orthotic footbed to improve your foot health.
Note that these particular slippers are designed for men but they have an identical women’s version of the same slipper.
What’s Great About These Slippers?
- The obvious orthotic footbed gets my vote for anyone with foot pain.
- They are moisture wicking so you don’t get sweaty feet.
- They have a non-slip rubber sole to stop you from falling.
- The returns policy gives you 30 days to exchange them.
What’s Not So Great?
- The weathered look of the slipper might not appeal to everyone.

Slippers You Shouldn’t Use To Stand In All Day
I thought it was worth mentioning that there is one type of slipper I definitely wouldn’t recommend for standing all day in and that is slipper socks.
Whilst slipper socks have their place they lack support and most don’t have great cushioning. That means that your feet are not going to benefit from shock absorption which you will need if you have hardwood floors.
The lack of a good footbed also opens up the possibility of f0ot problems because of the lack of arch support.
So leave slipper socks for occasional use only rather than a regular use house shoe.
What To Look For In A Slipper If You Are Standing All Day
Everyone has different needs when it comes to their indoor footwear requirements but there are some basic features that you do need to be thinking about before you buy any slippers.
Here are some of the important things you need to consider before purchasing a pair of slippers to wear around the house.
The Shape of Your Slipper
If you want a good pair of comfortable slippers then start by looking at the shape of the slipper you are intending to buy.
Wider slippers with a wide toe box are going to give you more room for your feet and toes. Whilst it is ok to have a snug fit so that your slippers stay on your feet you should have enough room for your feet to expand during the day.
Remember that if you are standing on your feet all day your feet will begin to naturally expand and spread out. This means that your feet at the end of the day are going to be larger than they were at the start. Taking this into account means you can avoid discomfort.
Your Slippers Cushioning
Choosing slippers with ample cushioning means that you are going to shield your feet from shocks and your slippers are going to feel more comfortable.
Typically memory foam slippers are a great choice as they give you that extra comfort and will help to protect your joints as you walk.
Cushioning is more important if you live in a house or flat with hardwood floors. If you have carpets you may be able to get away with less cushioning.
Arch Support In Your House Slippers
Whilst not everyone needs great arch support or an orthotic footbed it may be essential if you have flat feet or plantar fasciitis to prevent foot pain.
There are plenty of house shoes that offer this feature which is great news if you are walking around all day and need that extra support.
Vionic Slippers are one of my favorites even though they are on the pricey side but their built-in orthotic footbed in their footwear helped to solve my foot issues.
If your budget doesn’t stretch to Vionics there are plenty of other brands out there that offer good arch support.
Type of Sole
If you are walking around or on your feet all day make sure that you wear slippers that have a durable rubber sole.
A rubber outsole doesn’t just provide more cushioning it also helps to prevent you from slipping or falling on slippy surfaces.
A sturdy sole also means that your slippers won’t wear out incredibly quickly. Remember that if you are in those slippers for most of the day they are going to get a lot of wear and tear so you need durable soles to help prevent you from spending a fortune on indoor footwear.
Breathable Slippers
Breathable slippers are a must if you suffer from sweaty feet or are living in a hotter climate.
Nobody wants to deal with moist feet and the associated problems such as athlete’s foot because the sweat has nowhere to escape. This is why a slipper that wicks moisture should be something you take into consideration.
If you want to know the best slippers for sweaty feet check out my post on the subject to get a better idea of what options you have available to you to prevent the problem.
How Warm Are Your Slippers?
The climate is also going to influence what you are going to wear on your feet.
In colder climates, one of your priorities is going to be keeping your feet warm in the colder weather. That means looking for house slippers with insulation to help retain heat.
In warmer climates, open-toed cushioned slippers or slides may be more useful to keep your feet cool and comfortable. Just make sure you consider the support aspect. Flip flops for example are unlikely to be great for your feet if you are wearing them all day.
Are They Easy to Clean?
Finally, if you are wearing your slippers all day they are soon going to get dirty. Check to see if you can find machine-washable slippers to make them easier to clean.
Most slippers can be cleaned relatively easily but if you don’t want to be hand washing it makes sense to find machine-washable slippers that you can throw in the washing machine.
Read my article on how to stop slippers from smelling if you already have a pair that are starting to stink.
Choosing the best slippers for standing all day doesn’t have to be difficult if you follow out tips and hopefully you will find a pair that is perfect for your budget and of course your feet.
